Double Dutch

花式跳绳“double Dutch”。看来，这“double Dutch”的双重意义非同一般 —— 不仅仅证明是燃烧卡路里的绝佳途径，更能让我们的口语地道非常。在俗语中，“double Dutch”指“某类言语或文字形同一团迷雾”。

“Double Dutch”不是荷兰人的发明，最初源于美国。该运动要求，跳绳者须跳过由摇绳者交错摇动、呈反方向弧线的两根绳子。很明显，对不亲自尝试的门外汉而言，这种高难度的花式跳绳实在“花”，有点让人摸不着头脑。

从另一方面讲，源于17世纪的“Anglo-Dutch Wars”（英荷战争），英语中，很多怪异的事物都被称之为“Dutch”。由此，“double Dutch”由最初的“花式跳绳”延伸至日常生活中的“不知所云”。

看个例句：This article is so full of jargon. It's just double Dutch to me.（这文章术语满篇，对我犹如天书。）
